The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication makes the study of the different ways of relaying information to the public through mass media its nucleus. This program revolves around Journalism, Film and Television, Public Relations, and Advertising. Students learn about the history, theories, concepts, and ethics of the various practices in media and mass communication. Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills for your future careers in print, broadcast, electronic, and digital media.

The department of journalism aims to develop and nurture students in the idiosyncrasy and ethics required to be a journalist and to adhere to a transparent delivery of information. The department is also equipped with state of art facilities like media and recording labs and language labs to promote practical skills among students. During the three years of undergraduate studies, students get numerous opportunities to receive guidance and training from personals that are an active part of the broadcasting world.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA :

Student must have passed at least +2 examination of recognized board/university with at least: 33% marks in the aggregate in case of commerce students who have passed 10+2 examination and 40% for the students who have opted for two of the Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics or Mathematics subjects in 10+2 and 45% for other candidates. The selection is strictly on merit basis followed by a personal interview, in order to evaluate student’s general aptitude for the module.

STUDENT SEAT:

There are 60 seats for students in BA Journalism and Mass Communication.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

For pursuing a degree in B.Com, student needs to submit a duly filled admission form, along with the required set of documentation at the campus of YS College. Admission form can be collected from the campus or can be downloaded from the website www.ysgroup.in

COURSE STRUCTURE

The duration of the course is three years, divided into six semesters. The duration of each semester will be 90 teaching days, according to the following schedule :-

August to December : Odd Semester (1, 3, 5)
January to May : Even Semester (2, 4, 6)
June to July : Workshop / Industrial Training / Tours etc.
